Here’s the skinny on financial costs for sustaining this project. Minimum wage in Oakland is $15.06/hr. For one person at full time, that comes to $2400/mo. This project is currently running bare bones with less than that, for well over 40 hours per week of labor. Increased funding will increase the livability for working on this project, as well as help cover the hard expenses of over two hundred dollars per month. Anything raised over $3k/mo will go toward paying other folks to contribute and/or be squirreled away for labor and expenses in the new year. On the one hand, that’s a lot of money, but, on the other, it’s a bargain for the incredible resource this project will be.
